I developed Firmsanad, a digital portal that simplifies the process of obtaining business licenses in Saudi Arabia. Instead of navigating complex ministry procedures, users can apply through Firmsanad, and the system handles the application on their behalf—making the entire process seamless, faster, and more reliable.
Entrepreneurs and businesses in Saudi Arabia often face challenges when applying for licenses due to lengthy procedures, manual paperwork, and lack of a centralized system. This slows down business operations and creates barriers for new companies entering the market.
To address this, I designed and developed Firmsanad with a focus on scalability, security, and automation. The portal provides: A user-friendly application process for license requests. Automated submission workflows that apply on the user’s behalf. Centralized tracking and status updates, reducing manual follow-ups.

Saudi Arabia’s business licensing involves multiple ministries with frequently changing requirements. Ensuring that the portal remained compliant while simplifying the process for non-technical users was a major challenge.
The portal needed to communicate with third-party APIs and ministry systems. Handling secure authentication, data synchronization, and inconsistent external responses was a critical hurdle.
Applicants uploaded sensitive documents for licensing. Ensuring encryption, secure storage, and compliance with data protection standards was a top priority.
Applicants required timely updates from admins. Implementing a SignalR-based chat system for real-time communication was essential but challenging in terms of scalability and reliability.
Developed a modular and maintainable backend using ASP.NET Core 8 and Clean Architecture principles. This ensured separation of concerns, scalability, and ease of future feature expansion.

Deployed the solution on Microsoft Azure to leverage secure hosting, load balancing, and identity management. Configured CI/CD pipelines for automated deployment and continuous integration.

This project highlighted the critical importance of incremental migration strategies and the need for comprehensive monitoring from day one.
